3 Ways to heat water with your Chinese stationary heater
You have been asking me for months how to heat the water in the camper van or motorhome easily., simply and economically with a Chinese stationary heater.
Today I'm going to show you 3 possible solutions to achieve it, Depending on your knowledge and skills, it will be much easier for you to use one system or another..
Stationary heating water heater + radiator
This is the cheapest version of all, but you are going to need a 3D printer, or know someone who has it.
If you don't know anyone, there are online websites that can print and send the piece to your home., but I have looked for prices and they range between 40 and €90, a real outrage from my point of view..
It consists of recirculating the water from your current tank or adding a smaller one to use a mixer tap..
According to my tests, it is possible to heat the water in a tank. 10 liters of 20 a 40 degrees in just 10 minutes with the heating at half power, and alone 10 degrees with static heating at minimum.
To heat a large tank of about 80 liters, it could take between 2 and 4 hours depending on the power you have on. It must be said that while the water is heating, the air will be less hot, so you can give it a little more chicha than during normal operation, if necessary.
Necessary materials:
- 80mm radiator for 2kw and 120mm for 5kw: 10.87€
- STL of the 3d part: 0€ (descargar)
- Alternative 3d piece, very easy to adapt, are needed 2 units and put the radiator inside (60mm 2kw / 75mm 4/5/8kw)
- 8/10mm silicone hoses according to the recommended radiator version 2kw (ID 8mm x 12mm OD) o 5kw (ID 10mm x 14mm OD) or the version reinforced
- a small water pump: 19€
- Thermostat STC-1000 12V (adjustable) or what I currently use 2 temperature switch a NO 60º that is placed next to the radiator and another NC of the maximum temperature at which we want the water or boiler to reach, depending on the installation, 30/40/50/60º.. (both sensors in series with the pump to turn it on/off automatically)
- Thermostatic valve (optional): 15,03€ (the boiler is installed)
- 10a PWM regulator (optional) for the pump in case we want it to heat the water little by little and without reducing the power of the hot air outlet
You can see the test videos here: Half power / to the minimum
Heats the water without any problem.
Stationary heating water heater + boiler Truma
This option is a little more expensive, since the boiler is not cheap, but it has the advantage that it has a 5l tank and has a resistance to operate at 220v when camping or through an inverter in summer..
Here I leave a video of a person who uses a Chinese heater with this boiler: https://youtu.be/MqzC1R0dy0o
It is very easy to use, We connect the heating outlet to the boiler inlet, when water passes through the boiler, we will warm them 5 liters of water.
Necessary materials:
- 8/10mm hoses: 1,29€/m
- Boiler Truma Therme TT2: 239€
- Optional 76mm heating tube: 5,10€
- Chinese stationary heating: 70/140€
Approximate total cost: 200€ (without heating)
DUAL stationary heating water heater
This is the most compact option of all, which would only be valid if you still do not have stationary heating / installed static, since it is a special model in which water passes through the combustion chamber, heating up while the heating is on..
Bring your own water pump and all the accessories necessary to operate.
As a disadvantage we could say that it uses a control unit and a remote control that we have not yet tested and we do not know how it responds at height.. If you are encouraged by this last option, We would be happy to know your experience so we can share it with others..
